APA, the Professional Organization of the American Airlines pilots headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, near DFW International Airport, the Allied Pilots Association serves as the certified collective bargaining agent for all American Airlines pilots.  APA was founded in 1963 by a group of American Airlines pilots who broke away from the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA).  With more than 12,000 members, APA is the largest independent pilots’ union in the world.
